Lights, Camera, Hamburg!

Given my background as an actress and passionate cinema-goer, what could be more natural than a tour of our city’s many film and TV locations? My heart project!
Around 130 film productions are shot in Hamburg every year: series, TV films and national and international feature films.
Filmmaker Wim Wenders has certified that Hamburg has cinematic quality – which is like being knighted.
Our golden boy from Altona, director Fatih Akin, loves shooting in his home town most of all, even though the red carpet is rolled out for him all over the world. Why?
“James Bond” has already been here on His Majesty’s service. What tipped the scales in favour of Hamburg as a location?
The biggest disaster in German media history was immortalised here forever. Where?
– I’ll show you.
Which grand hotel lobby was a location for Til Schweiger’s “Head Full of Honey”? And why did he and his lead actor Didi Hallervorden temporarily become “the best of enemies”?
Popular Hamburg series such as Die Pfefferkörner, Großstadtrevier and Notruf Hafenkante are not left out of our tour either.
Fascinating locations, architectural highlights, a good helping of insider knowledge and backstage stories – those are the ingredients of the “Lights, Camera, Hamburg!” tour.
